My son will be making the transition from middle school to high School this year. More emphasis will have to be placed on living skills and possibly learning a trade and also the issue of graduation will have to be addressed. One of the biggest hurdles I am facing right now is the High school exit exams which he must past in order to get a diploma. Not passing these tests mean a certificate of completion instead of a diploma. These means he will not qualify for any agency or employment requiring a diploma.
I hope you find these links helpful and informational and that you are successful in gaining the proper services for your child.
I will try to keep everyone posted on how things progress during James' next IEP.
